Humanists UK is delighted to announce the appointment of its newest patron, Isaac Hempstead Wright. Wright is a highly regarded young actor who joins a stable of over 170 Humanists UK patrons with distinguished careers in arts, literature, science, academia, politics, and community and civic activism.

Isaac Hempstead Wright is probably best known for his role as Bran Stark in the popular series Game of Thrones. Appearing in all but one of its seasons, Wright is among a handful of Game of Thrones actors who remained on the show over its nine years of production.

Wright has also appeared in films, most notably as Tom Hill in the horror film The Awakening, and voice acted for numerous projects, including in an episode of Family Guy.

As well as acting, in 2019 Wright returned to university to study a degree in neuroscience, intending to continue to act alongside his studies. Wright is also a keen musician, playing the guitar, ukulele, and piano.

Humanists UK Chief Executive Andrew Copson commented:

‘It’s an absolute pleasure to bring Isaac on board as a patron of Humanists UK. Isaac is an actor of tremendous ability, and we are delighted to welcome him to the fold as our newest patron.’
