‘Atheist Bus’ tube cards

The Atheist Bus appeal was much more popular than expected, so that by the January 6 2009 launch enough funds were raised to send buses all around the country and even to buy advertising space on London tube trains.

Four adverts featuring inspiring quotes were shown on ‘Atheist Trains’! They were accompanied by the Atheist Bus slogan and links to humanists.uk, richarddawkins.net and atheistcampaign.org.

‘Isn’t it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?’

Douglas Adams

‘That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet.’

Emily Dickinson

‘I’m an atheist and that’s it. I believe there’s nothing we can know except that we should be kind to each other and do what we can for other people.’

Katharine Hepburn

It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.
