Humanist Celebrant Training
Ceremonies training during the coronavirus pandemic
The health of our trainees and trainers has been paramount when making decisions regarding our training. In order that you can continue with and complete your Humanists UK celebrant training during this time of uncertainty, we will be delivering all training courses via online and distance learning. The course dates will remain the same – the online elements and some of the required reading will take place on the set dates. We are working to make sure the training is a valuable learning experience, while avoiding or minimising social contact. Our tutors will discuss options with you throughout the training period.
If you are booked to attend any of our courses and you are well enough to take part online/at a distance, you will be able to do so. We will be in touch with full instructions. If you are booked to attend a course but are not well enough to take part in the online sessions, we can put your payment towards a reserved space at a future course. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible on the email address for the relevant course type: funerals@humanism.org.uk, weddings@humanism.org.uk, namings@humanism.org.uk.
To apply for any of our upcoming courses, please see the ‘How to apply’ section at the end of this page, located below the dates listings.

We welcome applications and have different forms depending on whether you are completely new to celebrant work (as are the majority of applicants who successfully train with us), are already a celebrant in our network, are a former registrar, or a celebrant who trained with another training provider. Please complete the application form that is relevant to you, listed on the ‘Become a humanist celebrant‘ page.
Please submit your application as far in advance as possible, as the application process is thorough and can take a number of months in some instances. We endeavour to allocate trainees to their first choice of course dates/location, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Where venues have not been specified, they will be decided nearer the starting date.
For fees please email ceremonies-recruitment@humanism.org.uk.
Humanist Ceremonies™ sets the highest standards for our accredited celebrants.
Please ensure that you are available for all stages of the course you select. Once a ceremonies training course has started a trainee may ask for a deferral to a later course only in unforeseeable and exceptional circumstances.
Trainees have the right to withdraw from courses at any time. If they do withdraw but wish to continue the training at a later date, they will be expected to start at the beginning of the training and they will need to pay the full fee. The non-refundable deposit from the original training will be kept.
