On 20 January 2020, we’ll once again be putting on ‘A Night of Humanism’, our annual entertainment event in central Belfast featuring humanist comedians and thinkers.

Featuring

Tim McGarry returns to host A Night of Humanism. Tim is the long-standing host of BBC One Northern Ireland’s The Blame Game, and well-known for starring in the comedy Give My Head Peace. He has been celebrated critics for being ‘sensitive, courageous, excoriating and funny... a comedian of the people, for the people’. He is a patron of Northern Ireland Humanists.

 

Stephen Law is a humanist philosopher and the editor of Think, which seeks to make contemporary philosophy accessible to everyone. He is a patron of Humanists UK, and author of OUP's seminal A Very Short Introduction to Humanism.

 

Cally Beaton is a natural storyteller full of intelligent, distinctive, and punchline-rich material, and has appeared on BBC comedy programmes such as QI. She was listed in Chortle’s 2017 Comedians To Watch and her Finalist credits include: Fresh Comedy Knights 2016, Max Turner Prize 2016, Bath Comedy Festival 2016, and Gotham Comedy New Talent New York 2015. Her debut solo show, Super Cally Fragile Lipstick, was a sell-out hit at Edinburgh in 2017.
