Apostate Social Online

September 22nd, 2020 20:00   --   21:00

The mini pub quiz is just for fun, nothing serious, we play music and chat, and we give away points for silly hats and mascots! The conversation with a formerly religious person will be a little more serious at times, but we like to end on a message of hope, and people generally leave feeling lifted and inspired.

We tend to get anywhere from 10 to 20 people in attendance. So if you've been on your own, locked up at home for too long, please join us, you are most welcome!

The social will be hosted by Terri O'Sullivan who left the Jehovah's Witnesses when she was 21. She struggled after leaving, being homeless and moving from one place to the next at first. Then in 2007, she set up a support and social group for ex Jehovah's Witnesses which still hosts events every year where people can meet up, have fun, make friends and share their experiences. This support group is XJW Friends, which she now runs with Ste Richardsson.

Terri and Ste are on the leadership team for Faith to Faithless. Send an email to terri@faithtofaithless.com, and she will send you the link to join the online event. Don't worry if you don't know anyone; most people are in the same boat. We're an inclusive group, so it doesn't matter the religion or high control group you left, what your race is, what your gender or sexuality is, or how well you are feeling today; you are more than welcome!
