LGBT Awareness Training with Cara-Friend

 Registration is closed for this event
December 10th, 2018 19:30   --   21:30

Join Northern Ireland Humanists for an evening of awareness training delivered by LGBT community organisation Cara-Friend.

The event is free to attend, however space is limited, so please do book your place.

The aim of the training is to raise the comprehension and understanding of experiences of LGBTQ+ people, and to inspire an awareness of LGBTQ+ inclusivity. This is done through three distinct areas of focus;

  • Raising awareness of what it means to be LGBTQ+ and understanding the background of gender and sexual identity
  • Exploring the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community in the present day with a particular focus on the experiences of people that identify as transgender.
  • How we – as organisations, employees and individuals – can be more inclusive of LGBTQ+ identifying people

Cara-Friend does invaluable work in support of and to empower the LGBTQ+ community, but relies on generous support to continue their work. We would therefore ask you to kindly donate to them so that they can continue to provide not just training and workshops, but continue all the other valuable activities they carry out, such as running youth groups, listening services, community events, and much more.
