The Humanist Students Board is made up of 3 student volunteers who set the strategic direction of the section. The roles they fulfil are as follows:
Each member of the board serves three years terms. One year in each of the roles above. This means that every year our student members vote in a new President-Elect who spends a year shadowing the current President until taking over as President at the beginning of the next academic year in September..
Any student member can run in elections to the board and every single student member has one vote. Applications open for the President-Elect in July. The election takes place in August.
Running for President-Elect: what you need to know
The President-Elect is an important strategic role supporting Humanist Students to be as active as possible in supporting every non-religious student in the UK. You will see the full job description, call for applications and application form here when the process opens. Please read these carefully before you apply
Applications will open on 1 July and will be open until 1 August.
The election process
The election runs from 1 August to 28 August and is conducted online. Every student member will receive a mailing with details of how to vote. Only student members can vote in the election, please ensure your provide your membership number.
Voting is conducted preferentially, the election count takes place on and results of the election will be announced the week commencing 3 September.
