Humanists UK Convention heads to Newcastle in 2018

17 November, 2017

Humanists UK has released Early Bird tickets for Convention 2018, hosted in the city of Newcastle over the weekend of 22–24 June.

Humanists UK Convention is always a thrilling and engaging weekend, visiting a different city each time, and this year we have a limited number of tickets from just £39 for students, and £79 for Humanists UK members – making it the most affordable Humanists UK Convention ever.

Ten fantastic speakers and performers make up the initial line-up, including The Darkening Age author Catherine Nixey, former UN Medical Director and assisted dying advocate Michael Irwin, and model and humanist campaigner Laura Lacole. Joining them will be bible historian Francesca Stavrakopoulou, Humanists UK Chief Executive Andrew Copson, musical comedian Jay Foreman and others, with many more to be announced over the coming weeks and months.

Following the success of the Humanists Professionals Conference, pioneered at Convention 2017, the training day will once again be integrated into the event, with a full day of CPD and networking opportunities taking place during the Friday.

The weekend will be launched with a brilliant social evening, with a pub quiz, comedy night, and welcome drinks on the Friday – allowing mixing and mingling with friends old and new.

The Convention is open to everyone, with Early Bird ticket prices from £89 for the general public, £79 for Humanists UK members, and just £39 for students.

Humanists UK Chief Executive Andrew Copson said, ‘We are delighted to be in Newcastle for our 2018 Convention. We’re thrilled to be able to offer the most affordable ever tickets for our Convention, and look forward to welcoming everyone from across the country, and beyond, to join us for a weekend of championing ideas for the one life we have.’
