Terms & Conditions: World Humanist Day card competition

By entering the design competition for World Humanist Day, you will be taken to have accepted the following Terms and Conditions:

  1. You must own the copyright for each work that you enter, and it is your responsibility to you do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.
  2. If your work is photographic, you must ensure it has been taken with the full permission and consent of the subject.
  3. Your work must be unpublished and not accepted for publication. Your work cannot have won prizes in other competitions.
  4. We will not accept entries sent through agencies.
  5. We will not accept entries sent by post.
  6. Copyright of all entries remains with you. However, by entering the competition, you grant Humanists UK the right to use your name and entry (with a credit to you) to publicise this competition, prize-giving, and other activities that reasonably relate to this project (such as a report on our activities throughout the year, or a retrospective on the competition, or on past World Humanist Days). Any further subsequent use would be subject to your consent in the form of a non-exclusive licensing agreement.
  7. You should expect to receive an automatic email after your entry has been received, but we do not accept any responsibility if we do not receive your entry for whatever reason. If you don’t receive an email, please contact us. A receipt email does not constitute acceptance of your work into the competition.
  8. The competition is open to anyone in the UK and crown dependencies, excluding employees of Humanists UK, their families, or anyone else associated with this competition.
  9. Valid entrants will be aged 18 or under on 25 April 2021. Your date of birth will be used to assign you to one of the three age-based categories. There will be prizes for all winners, but only be one winner of the grand prize.
  10. We reserve the right to reject entries if they don’t conform to the above requirements, are found to be corrupt, or otherwise have technical problems, including those which are of a low resolution or otherwise are not suitable for print.
  11. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the results.
  12. The winning artwork will go on sale in advance of World Humanist Day 2021 on 21 June. We intend to announce the winning artwork in the month of May.
  13. A grand prize is on offer of £200. Other prizes will not include cash, and are not exchangeable for cash.
  14. We reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of circumstances outside of our control. We will notify entrants as soon as possible, as appropriate.
  15. Submitting an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
